Finally, a car seat that will grow with your child...
If you're like me, you're tired of buying a car seat every year or two as your child gets bigger. From infant rear-facing seats, to transitional and forward-facing toddler car seats, to booster seats, it can get expensive, especially if you're buying seats for more than one vehicle! Now that many states are requiring child booster seats for kids under 8 years old, it is also important to get a kids' car seat that will grow with your child and function as a booster seat as well.
From 25 lbs. to 120 lbs!
The Britax Frontier 85 Combination Booster car seat is one of the most versatile car seats on the market today. It features an amazing range of age, height, and weight, accommodating children from two years old 25 pounds, up to 120 pounds. Additionally, it features the highest 5-point harness seat capacity on the market. Your child can remain harnessed up to 85 pounds, and in booster mode, up to 120 pounds. You can ensure that your child remains secure in any harness configuration, as the Britax Frontier 85 features 10 harness height positions, up to 20", and three buckle positions, maintaining a snug fit.
True side impact protection for your child's safety
Britax's featured True Side Impact Protection system is designed to limit injury to your child. It will help shield the seat from vehicle intrusion, distribute forces involved in a car crash, help to keep the head, neck, and spine aligned, and contain the head and body in the car seat. Knowing that it is one of the only car seats on the market that maintains a 5-point harness as your child gets older can help ease your safety concerns as well. There is simply no reason to compromise your child's safety as he or she graduates from a toddler car seat!
Convenient for you, comfortable for your child
There is no question that the Britax Frontier 85 Combination Booster car seat leads the field in quality and safety, but it is also a convenient and comfortable car seat. For your child, it features comfort foam, armrests, and integrated cup holders. Mom and dad will appreciate the design of the head restraint and no-rethread harness, which allows them to adjust the harness shoulder height and head restraint quickly and easily, with no disassembly of the harness required.
What people are saying:
- "We got the Rushmore color which is black and grey. It looks really nice, and the fabric is soft and high quality. My son really likes it because it looks a lot like a "big kid" booster seat. He loves the cup holders and arm rests. I love it because I am sure it is very safe, especially since my son can stay in a 5 point harness for a very long time with this seat." - Julie, Denver, CO
- "I own several high weight harness seats, and this is my favorite! My son (5 yrs old, 47", and 43 lbs) has previously been in a Radian XT and a Graco Nautilus. He started to complain about the crotch strap being tight on both seats- I looked at it closer and it turns out the straps were coming out from underneath him even though they were on the furthest setting out- in both seats! We tried the Frontier 85 and he was much more comfortable- he has at least an inch or two until he'll be up against the crotch strap in the FN 85." - J. Vincent
- "Just got our Frontier 85 - love this big kid seat! Sturdy, plush, nicely finished. It did take me a few tries to figure out which installation method was best (be sure to try all - in our '06 Prius it is currently LATCH plus top tether, later long-belt-path for when daughter is heavier), but now it's as solid as our Boulevard." - vivid blue, Washington, DC
Buy now and save!
The Britax Frontier 85 car seat sells online for around $250-$280. It is definitely not the cheapest seat out there, but its safety features for tall toddlers and older kids made it worth it to me. Plus, there is tremendous value in not having to buy two seats - one for a larger toddler, then a booster seat later down the road. I recommend buying it at Amazon.com for their free shipping and return policy. Here's a tip - check prices on the different fabric options... sometimes one color is cheaper than the others!

I live in Australia and this system is illegal, I have a subaru forester which is setup for these types of restraints, but as I said it is illegal. if I can get two of these booster seats for my children; I will, because their safety comes before Australias Law!
